microsoft event

a wonderful and unforgettable experience at Microsoft event which started from 9am-6pm today..we arriving b4 8am..had our breakfast before it started..met some new friend, msp from mmu,ktar..i hardly remember their name..sorry la im not good in names :P we helped out during the event...and i was the usherer "so called"..

i wanna skip those crap and tell u what so exciting with the event..basically theres 2 parts..morning session and afternoon session(after lunch break) and the afternoon session we split it into 2 session again..one is for developers and one is for designers..

morning session speech was given by ken chin ,creative director from Leo Burnett and Rohan Thomas, Senior Web Platform and UX Technology Advisor with Microsoft and someone from the Star who i forgot his name and post(some VIP)..introducing about branding,silverlight3, IE8,briefly about silverlight, blend3..

whats cool about IE8 is the additional features like web slices, visual search, Accelerators.,bla bla bla which enhanced ur web experience..what i find cool bout is the accelerators..u can look up on a certain keyword for infor without leaving the page u r viewing..u dun need to go to a new tab and do the searching..u might find other feature in IE8 cooler than the accelerators..check it out at microsoft.com

2ndly,what inspiring me is the silverlight+blend3..i was thrilled when the 1st time being introduced to it during the msp event in upm and its still very amazing for the second time..the tech is so advance lately..or mayb bcos i dun update myself with tech but now i do :) besides, bout the blend3, rohan jokes:" when it crashes its beta" ROFL

okay..lunch,we went to mdm kwan..moy treats XD we had sambal petai with shrimp, claypot taufu, kangkung, rendang chicken, sambal beef..the foods r good :)

after lunch we splitted into 2 sessions-->developers and designers..at first we planned to attend the developers session which sound pretty cool..but the hall is crowded and its about asp.net 4.0(i think i can catch it up with some reading on the net) so we jump over to the designers session which introducing WPF with silverlight..creating templates for WPF application with WPF which is pretty cool..but the speaker voice is just too soft :( "hes shy but that his 'baby' " says aiken(the name.. i hope im not mistaken)

and then by rohan again..introducing silverlight3..hard rock memorabilia is using silverlight deep zoom technology that u probably know..if u not then check out the memorabilia.hardrock.com..some silverlight demo in healthcare, financial and stock..basically silverlight still new compare to flash which dominantly uses..ppl tends to ask:"wah..such cool application and graphical rich, our malaysia bandwidth okay or not~"(try to say it in more malaysian style hahaha) rohan explained that the streaming is not by a chunk of binaries or binaries chopped into pieces but is by text, hence it saves bandwidth..silverlight has the features which flash dont..hmm..what do u say?flash or silverlight?

then continue by LV Chong the microsoft MVP(most valuable professional) giving speech bout 10 ways to screw up RIA..haha funny session about dos and donts

last but not least..Q&A which is including a bit of motivation talk XD

the end

do u think my day ended..of cos not!
KTM delayed again so i read the sun which i grabbed at lrt this morning(which i was too busy to read) and saw this article bout limiting the students in taking more than 10 subs..basically i strongly disagree with this concept..y do u need to limit the student in getting more knowledge..youngters tends to change their ambition..like when i was young i aim to b a detective cos inspiring by the cop film..then i wish to become a teacher cos teacher gets the authority to punish student like me LOL then i dream to bcome engineer and now im pursuing some course which nothing to do with my "dreams" and i like it..see i changed so fast..how if u limit me to study only 10 subs...i choose this and this but end up im not doing the field ive chosen..so if u dun limit me in taking the subs i will be taking this this this and this which makes me "luckily" studying the right course eventually..okay the reason not strong enough..let me explain another one

see how would u know e=mc2 means if u dun study physic? then how bout newtons law of motion?then how do u know saliva is enzym and not make out of water if u dun study bio?then my POL(mother language)..if u limit to 10 subs..i cant take POL in spm cos the compulsory subs make up to exactly 10 subs..okay u may say:" u may learn but not taking the exam" taking exam is to test ur understanding to the subs and not to show off...if not taking how u gonna test ur understanding???irony huh!??!

so y limit to only 10 subs?? bcos wanna make the measurement of getting jpa scholarship easier to determine?hey measurement fair or not is nothing to do with limitting the subs..see.. u get 14straight As and 10 straight As..u r the top student..cos both r STRAIGHT As which mean hit the max target..so ur scholarship should b given to the top students..but if u give the scholarship to student scored 1 A lesser which isnt archieving max target and u gave them instead of the top student..that shows unfair to the top student..eventhough u limit the subs to 10..but u gave the scholarship to the student with 1 A lesser instead of the straight As..thats still show the unfairness..

sir..i hope u think twice before ur action cos u r taking away the dream of a student..they took 14 subs and they manage to get straight As means studying isnt a burden to them...why would u locking them inside the box when ppl always says thinks out of the box
